报告内容: In this talk, we will give a brief introduction on the optimal transport problem and discuss its applications in geometry, cosmology, and image recognition. We will also present some recent results on the free boundary problem in optimal transport. This work is part of a series of collaborations with Gregory Loeper, Shibing Chen and Xu-Jia Wang.

报告人简介:刘佳堃，2006年本科毕业于浙江大学，2010年在澳大利亚国立大学获得博士学位。2010-2013年在普林斯顿大学做博士后研究，2013-2024年任职于澳大利亚卧龙岗大学，2024至今任职于澳大利亚悉尼大学。刘佳堃教授主要研究领域为非线性椭圆和抛物偏微分方程及其在几何和最优运输中的应用，他在Monge-Ampère方程、Hessian方程及其他变分问题的正则性方面有着重要贡献，并在国际顶级数学期刊上发表多篇论文，部分成果发表在 Ann. of Math., Comm. Pure Appl. Math., Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., Adv. Math., Trans. Amer. Math. Soc., Int. Math. Res. Not., CVPDE, Indiana Univ. Math. J.等期刊上。刘佳堃教授在2024年获得澳大利亚数学学会奖章和Gavin Brown Prize，2025年当选澳洲数学会会士。
